Month 11: Max on Wheels

Drivers beware! Max has a new set of wheels and is tearing up the place. He likes to alternate between pushing his imaginary "Corvette," the MaxMobile II (an empty moving box), the laundry basket, and empty diaper boxes. Vroom-vroom!

Month 9: The Incredibly Mobile Max

This video is about three months old. But better late, than never! Max has long since perfected his moves and has been recently experimenting with the walker (a video of which we promise to post soon!). As with all the more recent videos, you can now see a larger version - just click the link (name of the video) underneath the screen.

Month 7, Day 29 - A Test Video

We've been pretty disappointed with the quality of the videos posted on this site, particularly since we're shooting the videos with a high-definition (HD) camera. After conferring with some new friends, we decided to try out a new way of posting videos, using the vimeo.com website. All seemed to be going smoothly, except after uploading to vimeo, we noticed that there wasn't any sound. It seems that we'll need to get some proper video editing software to get both sound and video. In the meantime, enjoy this "silent movie" of Max in his baby pool (shot July 12, 2009). [Note to the Swans: It looks like we'll be a Mac family before too long!]

Even though the video below isn't in HD, it is still a vast improvement over the earlier videos. To see the video in full screen and in HD, click here to go directly to the video in vimeo. For full screen, point your mouse at the video screen, right click your mouse and select "full screen". To turn on the HD quality, hit the "HD is OFF" button on the screen. It will take longer to load.

Month 6, Day 10 - The Simple Things

A magazine to rip up, a few colorful blocks, and a helping hand here and there... Max is easily entertained by the simple things. Although boredom eventually strikes...

Week 22 - Tummy Time Max

Finally... Max enjoys tummy time. In fact, sometimes he actually seems to prefer being on his tummy. Below are some clips - you can't make out the details very well, but he is a drooling machine.

Week 18 - Munching Max

The doc gave Mom the green light for introducing Max to solids, since he weighed in at 16 pounds and 2 ounces at his 4-month check-up. (Despite this impressive gain, his weight growth rank dropped to the 75th percentile, down from the 90th percentile at his 2-mo check-up, potentially dashing Dad's dreams of his son's pro football career.) Below are some clips of Dad giving him his first solid: very runny rice cereal (not exactly a solid!). Although he spit up most of it about four hours later, he semi-ate and drooled it out like a champ.

Week 15 - Max's Bouncy Castle

Mom has recently taken to bouncing Max on her legs, which he seems to enjoy. But she's old and tires easily, so the ride is short-lived. In the last video, Max gets a laugh out of "beating up" Mom.
